Mia and Ally, two seasoned campers and Ambassador Girl Scouts from Troop 50220, launched the Let's Go Camping project in 2023, with support from their adventurous troop leader, Jen Armstrong. They created the project to share their passion for tent camping with younger Girl Scouts. In May 2023, a dozen girls participated in the first Let's Go Camping workshop and overnight camping trip. In May 2024, 20 campers in grades 3 through 6 participated in the program. In May 2025, a new group of 20 Girl Scouts in grades 4 and 5 went camping, and Mia and Ally welcomed Izzy as their first leader-in-training. The next trip will be the weekend of April 25-26, 2026.
